Digital+ rents new transponder on Astra

Prisa TV's Spanish satellite platform Digital+ has hired a new transponder on Astra in order to increase the number of HDTV channels it offers.

According to market sources this will happen over the next few months. At present Digital+ offers some 20 HDTV channels and one 3D TV channel but the operator needs more space to transmit further number of HDTV channels in order to differentiate itself from competitors.



At present only Telefónica's DSL TV platform Movistar Imagenio offers some HDTV channels as a competitor but it suffers from bandwidth limits associated with the delivery platform

19,2 degres east has a big potential. because there are lots af analog tv channels there. I hope they stop broadcasting analog channels near future.
