PCCW secures broadcast rights for Ligue 1
Hong Kong telco PCCW has secured the rights to broadcast games from the top division of the French football league for the next two seasons (2010/11 and 2011/12).
As a result of the deal, signed with international sports marketing agency MP & Silva, PCCW holds the rights to broadcast Ligue 1 games on its quadruple-play platforms (covering the IPTV service 'now TV', PCCW Mobile, PCCW eye/eye2 and now.com.hk).

"Being one of the top leagues in Europe, Ligue 1 strengthens our broadcast of the top quality football leagues and makes now Sports the ideal channel for football fans to watch the best matches from every corner of the world."
PCCW recently revealed in its annual results for 2009 that it had reached 1.001mn subscribers for its IPTV service by the end of last year, up 5% year-on-year, and that the service also turned a profit for the first time in 2009.
