Poland’s two leading DTH platforms Cyfrowy Polsat and Cyfra+ plan to undertake a Forward Error Correction (FEC) on Hot Bird at 13 degrees East next month.
According to Satkurier, they have agreed to synchronise the process on 05.30 on August 25 in order to keep inconvenience to their subscribers to a minimum. Both are also preparing publicity campaigns in order to inform subscribers about the process, which will require them to re-programme their receivers.
The FEC will allow Cyfrowy Polsat and Cyfra+, which together have almost 4 million subscribers, to offer improved services.
