The planned start date of an Ariane-5 rocket, which was to promote inter alia the Astra 3B satellite radio into space, has moved the French space provider Arianespace on Thursday surprising.
Because of the need for additional technical review would be the 24th originally for the March mission scheduled to move one or two days back, said Arianespace. A new date will be announced promptly as possible, it said.
Astra 3B, built by EADS Astrium and is designed with Ku-and Ka-band capacity, including for two-way broadband services. It takes 5470 pounds on the scale and is exposed at the position 23.5 degrees East. Also on board is the military communications satellite COMSATBw-2 for secure data transmission of the Bundeswehr.
