KidsCo increases its presence in Africa

Children’s channel to air on ZAP in Angola

London, UK – 1 April 2010 - KidsCo, the international children’s channel has today signed a deal with Angolan satellite DTH pay-tv operator, ZAP. KidsCo will be included from March 2010, on ZAP’s kids’ channels across its direct-to-home bouquet platform, airing in Portuguese.

The agreement will bring much loved shows including The Wiggles, Sabrina: the animated series, New Adventures of Madeline and Dennis the Menace as well as KidsCo original content such as the hugely successful edutainment series, Boo & Me and arts show, Jass Time! to children across Angola, through Portugal’s largest cable operator.

Paul Robinson, Managing Director at KidsCo, commented: “Africa is a particularly important region for us with its multi-cultural landscape. Our programming includes shows from around the world as well as our own content. Providing diverse programming allows children to learn about different cultures while enjoying the best kids programming available. We’re delighted to be working with partners that understand the benefits of this programming and we anticipate huge enthusiasm around the launch by both children and parents alike.”

Catarina Tavira, Product and Marketing Director says: “We are pleased to announce that KidsCo will be a key part of ZAP’s kids channels on our bouquet platform. In providing content that is engaging and entertaining but also educational, KidsCo makes itself a favourite for children and parents alike. It’s great to have quality content available to us and we look forward to working with KidsCo as more and more Angolan households take advantage of better offerings of television services in Portuguese.”
