Echostar XV launch scheduled for July 10
International Launch Services (ILS) will launch the EchoStar XV Satellite for DISH Network on Saturday, July 10, at 18.40 GMT from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, on top of an ILS Proton M launch vehicle.
The EchoStar XV satellite will join DISH Network’s fleet of satellites that serve more than 14 million satellite TV customers in the US. From its location at 61.5 degrees west, EchoStar XV will provide Ku-band services over the continental United States.
The satellite is based on the Space Systems/Loral’s 1300 platform. This is the 5th ILS Proton launch of 2010 and the 4th EchoStar satellite launched on ILS Proton.
