Croatian media bill under fire
Opposition against a new media bill addressing the public broadcaster HRT is growing in Croatia.
According to Limun, commercial broadcasters believe the legislation, which allows HRT to continue receiving funding from receiver licence fees and commercial activities, will deepen the crisis in the media industry. They also say that it will allow HRT to make additional profits, some of which will come two thematic digital channels.
Croatia’s TV market is dominated by HRT, RTL Televizija and CME’s Nova TV.
