Coverage of Spain's victory against Germany averaged 8.89m (38.4%) for BBC One between 7pm and 10pm. A further 777k (3.4%) watched the game on BBC HD.
ITV's docu-soap The Lakes brought in 2.45m (11.3%) between 7.30pm and 8pm, before an episode of Midsomer Murders averaged 3.31m (13.5%) from 8pm.
The latest episode of Big Brother took just 1.58m (6.5%) for Channel 4 in the earlier timeslot of the 8pm hour. However, a further 383k (1.6%) watched the show on Channel 4 +1.
Also on Channel 4, The *** Education Show: Am I Normal? brought in 2.3m (9.4%) from 8pm and 483k (2.7%) on timeshift, which was the fourth largest multichannel audience of the night.
