Portugal Telecom’s IPTV operation Meo has unveiled Meo Interactivo, an application store that will host apps from Facebook, Oceanlook, Picasa and Flickr.Meo Interactivo takes advantage of the Microsoft Mediaroom operating system it has used since June 2007. Subscribers will be able to watch TV and simultaneous check their Facebook account, see posts on their wall, and access photos within their own account or those of their friends.
The Oceanlook site gives information, such as weather, tides and water temperatures for 300 beaches on the Portuguese coast. Pictures posted onto Picasa and Flickr sites will be visible as an extension to the existing Meo Fotos service.
