Competition hots up in Romania
The three-way fight for customers in Romania between RCS/RDS, UPC and Romtelecom continues unabated.
Romtelecom, which has a presence in the cable, DTH and IPTV sectors, has effectively become a quad play company by joining forces with the mobile operator Cosmote, with which it has an ownership link.
Customers who enter Germanos stores all over the country can now subscribe to TV, broadband and fixed telephony from Romtelecom, as well as a special offer from Cosmote called Cosmote in Retea. The quad play offer will be available through Germanos until August 4.
Separately, UPC has introduced a 100 Mbps internet access service in 12 cities. Costing €25 a month, it is aimed at business clients.
