Nagravision inks ONO hybrid platform deal
Spain’s leading cable operator ONO has selected Nagravision to secure its next generation hybrid TV platform. The platform will be the first broadband/broadcast content delivery network in Spain, combining traditional pay-TV with the internet and delivered over ONO’s exclusive fibre-optic network.
Nagravision’s conditional access will secure ONO’s next generation services, which will include VOD, PPV and advanced PVR functionality in its new TiVo-powered set-top boxes. Nagravision already provides ONO with information management (IMS) and content management systems (CMS), and its latest conditional access will be integrated in all next generation set-top boxes deployed by the cable operator.
ONO’s next generation TV platform is expected to launch in 2011 and to initially serve its fibre-optic network customers.
