DTT interactive software is manufactures in Argentina
A group of Argentine researchers developed interactive software for DTT. It is called Ginga.ar and it was manufactured based on the Brazilian interactive software Ginga. It will be incorporated in decoders to be sorted out by the Government in such country between August and September.
It is an initiative jointly carried out by members of the Scientific Research Commission and experts of the National University of La Plata IT experts. "With the video channel, we can send a data channel and with them, short programs that enable interaction by means of the remote control", explained Gabriel Baum, member of the aforementioned commission.
The software has already been tested in a program - about health - of the educating channel Encuentro. "We added a possibility that will enable the TV viewer to receive additional information such as a disease background, or how it was discovered by just pressing a bottom. By pressing another bottom, a summary of what has already happened in the program was presented", pointed out Baum. According to the expert, interactivity will enable users to train themselves in labor issues, to have information about health prevention campaigns and to answer surveys with a high personalization level, among other things.
