The Polish cable operator Aster has acquired Mediatel 4B, a telco that provides services to the business sector.
According to Parkiet, Elterix has agreed to sell its 99.16% stake in Mediatel 4B, which has a nominal value of PLN8 million (€1.94 million), for what will eventually be close to PLN15 million. Aster was required to pay 90% of the amount within two days of signing the agreement on July 2 and will pay the remainder in a year.
Mediatel 4B will be integrated into Aster’s own business division Aster Biznes by the fourth quarter of this year. Thanks to its acquisition, Aster’s business sector activities are expected to generate revenues of PLN6 million this year.
Currently the internet generates the majority of these revenues (65%), followed by fixed telephony (20%), TV and other services (11%) and mobile telephony/services (4%).
Aster is the fourth largest cable operator in Poland with a presence in Warsaw, Kraków and Zielona Góra.
