Kabel BW to offer mobile services

Germany‘s third-largest cable operator Kabel BW will soon offer its customers mobile phone services using the mobile network of Telefónica O2 Germany. The capacities have now been secured, the company announced in Heidelberg.
At first, a broadband mobile internet service will be offered, enabling cable customers to surf the net while on the move. Tariff details will be announced shortly.
As the second step, mobile voice tariffs will be added. Households in the regional state Baden-Württemberg will thereby be able to obtain all telecommunications services from one source.
After Kabel Deutschland, Kabel BW is the second of Germany‘s three large cable operators to offer mobile services. The move means that cable companies are able to compete more head-on with ADSL providers such as Deutsche Telekom which have already been offering a quadruple play portfolio for a long time.
