DTG consultation on horizontal TV market
The Digital TV Group (DTG) has launched a new consultation on interoperability and innovation on the DTT platform.
Delivering an Interoperable, Efficient, Stable and Innovating Horizontal Digital TV Market, is open to any organisation or individual with an interest in digital television in the UK.
Commenting on the consultation, Richard Lindsay-Davies, director-general of the DTG, said: “For over a decade the DTG has played a pivotal role in the success of the Freeview platform. Last year we published the 6th edition of the D-Book, the technical specification for UK DTT, paving the way for the launch of high definition services on the platform. Later this year we will publish the 7th edition of the specification, making hybrid Connected TV devices a reality for viewers”.
Lindsay-Davies added that it was essential that the horizontal market continued to exist in an environment where innovation could thrive and the consumer was safeguarded.
As part of the wider consultation process the DTG is to sponsor a Westminster eForum event on 7 September 2010.
The consultation will close on Monday September 20
