ProSiebenSat.1 tops 2m subs

Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins classics, the two pay-TV channels operated by ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany, have each reached more than 2 million subscribers in Germany. This was announced by the Munich-based TV group at the occasion of the channels' 4 year anniversary.
Sat.1 Comedy and kabel eins classics launched in June 2006, broadcasting on digital pay-TV platforms via cable, satellite and IPTV in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
“We went on air four years ago with 500,000 subscribers and have quadrupled our subscriber figure since then. This confirms our concept to offer the viewers something special,” said Mirjam Laux, head of pay-TV at ProSiebenSat.1 subsidiary SevenSenses.
Sat.1 Comedy screens comedies, sitcoms, comedy shows and US shows while kabel eins classics focuses on classic movies and series from the 1940's to 1990's.
