New Argentinean satellite for 2012

Argentina satellite operator Arsat has chosen Arianespace to launch its next satellite called Arsat-1.
The plan is to launch the satellite in 2012 from the international space base of Kourou in French Guyana. Manufactured by the Argentinean company INVAP and with a payload of 2,900 Kg., the new satellite will be equipped with 24 transponders operating in the Ku band.
This will allow the satellite of be able to deliver a large number of telecommunication services, data transmission and DTH television for the Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay markets.
