Croatia’s Council for Electronic Media is meeting today (February 10) to discuss concessions for digital TV channels. However, as Limun points out, it will not be making any decisions immediately as the deadline for applications is next Monday, February 15.
There are a total of three licences for thematic channels being made available and applications to date have been submitted by Croatian Music Channel, Kapital Network, NET televizija, Nova TV and RTL. In the case of RTL, it has applied for two channels, one of which would show Croatian and foreign series and the other entertainment.
The national public broadcaster HRT is exempt from the tender, having already been allocated a total of five channels on the first multiplex.
