Digea, Greece, has just joined Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE), bringing the Association´s membership to 13 companies. In BNE, broadcast network operators from 20 European countries have come together to create an association representing their industry’s interest vis-ŕ-vis EU policy makers and stakeholders.
Earlier this year, BNE was founded by twelve major operators of terrestrial broadcasting networks in Europe (see full coverage in Broadband TV News here)
Digea, BNE’s newest member, was recently created (summer 2009) to drive the move to digital television in Greece. BNE’s twelve founding members are Abertis (Spain), Arqiva (United Kingdom), Broadcast Services Denmark (Denmark), Elettronica Industriale (Italy), Norkring (Norway), OIV (Croatia), ORS (Austria), Radiocom (Romania), Rai Way (Italy), Swisscom Broadcast (Switzerland), TDF Group (France) and Teracom (Sweden). Media Broadcast (Germany), Digita (Finland), Levira (Estonia), Antenna Hungaria (Hungary), Norkring België (Belgium), Norkring d.o.o (Slovenia) amongst others are also represented via their parent companies (forming part of the founding members).
