Get is to add new video on demand content from Canal+ following a new agreement between cableco and premium channel.
The subscription video on demand (SVOD) offer means that films and series from the Canal+ schedule will be available free of charges to customers of Oslo-based Get that subscribe to Canal+ Total or Canal+ Film.
“Today’s launch illustrates a trend where more and more TV content is becoming available on demand. Our customers have been able to pause, rewind and record live broadcasts for years in addition to the video on demand service. With the launch of TV-series on-demand, we give our viewers even greater freedom and flexibility,” says Gunnar Evensen, CEO of Get.
Coming up over the next few weeks are movies that include Hangover, Ice Age 3 and Inglorious Bastards. Episodes of True Blood and Entourage will also be available as part of a library of more than 300 film titles and TV episodes.
Get launched its video on demand service in Europe and now has over 1,400 film titles available from studios including 20th Century Fox, Warner, Paramount, Universal, Buena Vista, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, SF, Scanbox, Nonstop, Noble, Star Media Entertainment and New Regency.
