Sky Deutschland aims for 10 HD channels

. Sky Deutschland plans to expand its HD offering to 10 channels this summer. Starting on August 13, Sky Sport HD2 will be the second HD sports channel from the premium broadcaster.
The operator also plans two further HD movie channels, Sky Cinema Hits HD and Sky Action HD.
The second HD sports channel will give Sky the opportunity to show two Bundesliga football games simultaneously in HD, as well as more Champions League, Premier League games, the UEFA Europa League and the (German) DFB-Pokals.
The extension of the HD line-up, already announced in October of last year , should help Sky to get more subscribers to its premium services. Sky’s current HD offer consists of Sky Sport HD, Sky Cinema HD, Disney Cinemagic HD, Eurosport HF, Discovery HD, History HD and National geographic HD.
