Discovery Communications regards Poland as one of its three most important markets in Europe and plans to add to the nine channels it already distributes in the country within the next two years.
The news was given to Gazeta Prawna by Arthur Bastings, the VP of Discovery Communications, who added that the company is also open to the idea of entering into partnerships with local broadcasters to launch more channels in Poland.
Such a partnership already exists with TVN, which operates Discovery Historia jointly with Discovery.
Data produced by Nielsen Audience Measurement for Gazeta Prawna indicates Discovery has already secured PLN364 million (€89.3 million) in ad revenues so far this year in Poland.
