TSBc launches new 4° West slot
Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) has completed of the manoeuvre of the Thor III satellite from its previous orbital location of 1° West to a new location at 4° West, making it Telenor’s first satellite at this location.
“TSBc will commence commercial transmissions as soon as possible from the orbital location 4° West”, said Natasha Keech, director of marketing and communications TSBc. “The move to 4° West allows TSBc to exploit fully the remaining commercial life of Thor III”.
The satellite has been placed in inclined orbit and is expected to provide an additional six to 10 years of commercial operations. TSBc said it intends to establish inclined-orbit operations for satellite services in the Middle East and will announce further details in due course.
