For me Spiderbox 9000HD is best. I own this receiver and i am very happy with it. I does lot of things like linux receivers do, is not linux but it does client and server which lot of linux receivers don't do. I bought just under 210 euros with free gift.

Guys! I'm planning to change my old DM500s clone to a clone HD receiver. Please help me choose between DM and Vu.

If I don't have to consider the money aspect, dm8000 is the best for me. You can transform it in real multimedia center box because the mips400 processor support divx and dts decoding. You can add a blue ray drive and/or a 3.5'' hard drive , and you can mount your shared folders of your computer.
It can manage 4 different tuner and is able to process 8 DVB streams (several recordings + wtaching on the tv + watching over the network, ...).

But by taking into account the price, dm500HD od vu+ are good compromise.
dm500hd is similar to dm8000 but with only ne tuner (one stream processing only), the hard drive is external, and the usb is not activated.

I have dream 800 hd(clone) very good price and good suport for soft (8 image in usb styck with meobut you can select wich image you want)

I vote for DM 800HD. It works most stable comparing to other HD receivers I've tested so far.

I voted for the Vu+ Duo only because i have one. I think Dream boxes are the most popular boxes around and will get the most votes on any day

Just my opinion

My dm800hd is a beauty of a HD Box apart from the front flap falling off.

800hd Clones I have fitted for friends have noisy fans which fail but can be replaced easy enough.

My AZBox HD back to Portugal for repair. The most frustrating box I have ever owned.

Have a spiderbox on order, will update after testing

The dreambox 800 is very good, but coast to much.
