Sky Italia is testing Videoguard4 (Anti-CS!)

Italian satellite pay-TV Sky Italia has launched trials of a new access card working in a conditional access system, n.d.s Videoguard 4. The new system is blocking the illegal sharing of cards (card sharing), which became a big hit.

Sky Italia platform offers programs from the Hot Bird satellite at the orbital position 13°E. It is not known when the new system Videoguard 4 fully operational.

Any idea in what way is it anti-cardsharing? I've heard that they are working on it cause CS is still a big problem everywhere... in other news the guy who ran boxkey.eu got arrested in poland. Dunno who else does boxkey reading but it's a sad day for all the CS fanatics. (Nagra3 has the cards paired with the receivers therefore it's impossible to share unless you have the boxkey) I really don't know whether I should still buy a HD receiver or go for a cheap dm500 clone cause it seems like it's gonna be over sooner or later. Hopefully later... A lot later.

as always its cat and mouse as soon as a new system is in place the hackers go to work there is always something open as one door closes another opens

Has it been tested on cardsharing and found not working,i'm sure all it needs a new or moddied cardshare system

Nova implemented similar measures on their HD channels but sadly for them it was soon broken. Can't see anyway Sly or anyone else for that matter can stop sharing from happening on a permanent basis. Even it they do suceed I know I will NEVER subscribe to their rip off service.

there are also reports from AUS that the service provider there has also somehow stopped ppl from CS with their new system

can't open cinema +24 HD from sky italy, could this be due to this new anti card sharing messure? Other channels still work.
