    36E: Russian FTA station TV3

Uncoded popular Russian TV TV3, focused on science fiction films, thrillers and Horror, probably cease broadcasting in DVB-S multiplex Poverkhnost Plus on satellite Eutelsat W4 (36°E).

The same program TV3 yesterday appeared on the same satellite in MPEG-4 but other multiplex within the same operator (Poverkhnost Plus), but which works in the standard DVB-S2 and 8PSK modulation. All indications are that TV3 end of the original spread on the frequency 11.727 GHz, pol L, SR 27500, FEC 3/4, DVB-S, which broadcasts in the older compression format MPEG-2 and is thus available to more households with income of programs position of 36 degrees east.

    new technical parameters:
    Eutelsat W4 (36°E) freq 12.207 GHz, pol R, SR 27500, FEC 3 / 4, DVB-S2/8PSK, FTA

The reason for moving to TV3 DVB-S2 can optimize transponder capacity service but economic reasons. Program in DVB-S2 broadcast muxu the compression format MPEG-4 uses a percentage smaller capacity, leading to efficient use of transponder.

Further efforts Poverkhnost Plus can be forced by customers to upgrade their satellite receivers with new supporting DVB-S2. Virtually the same objective has a competitive Russian platform Tricolor TV, which earlier this month launched a new DVB-S2 multiplex.

Recall that the DVB-S Plus Poverkhnost capacity before the music ended and the TV Biz earlier this week the information Che.Pe Info. These stations are distributed only within the DVB-S2 multiplex.

Russian TV3 broadcast freely in the Ku band still on the Sirius 4 satellite, the position of 4.8 degrees east. It is not yet clear whether it will continue posting here.
