    Satellite Frequencies

Why do Satellite providers keep changing frequencies every so often...What is the need to constantly change

    Re: Satellite Frequencies

If you are referring to the recent changes on 28E, it is to do with controlling the Beam so that they can keep a tight footprint, and therefore control who can see the transmission.
Occasionally providers will change to increase/decrease the signal strength as frequencies are nor linear in strength, effectively for the same purpose.Sadly the original idea that Satellite TV would be TV without borders has long since bit the dust, now it is about making money, and keeping control.

No, not really. You will be better off checking out some of the specialist Sat listing sites. Lyngsat.com, Flysat.com or Kingofsat. The latter two usually list any added frequencies, change of frequencies, for all the Sats, and also list channels no longer on a particular frequency, as well as new ones added. this can be very helpful, especially if you find you can no longer receive a channel that you previously could.

            Re: Satellite Frequencies

The recent changes @ 28.2° east where to do with the decommissioning of Eutelsat 28A due to its age and the introduction of Astra 2G, All the channels that where on the UK or European beam on 28A have just swapped to the same on 2G apart from a few where a small change in transponder frequency is required.

All Changes should have been done by now until Sky decide to take off all there subscription based channels from the european beam and swap them to a UK beam

                  hi guys

Perhaps not the ideal thread, but didn't want to start a new one

Anyone knows what's happened to TP 11585 V 27500 on HB 13E? No signal since a few days, didn't see anything yet on king ** sat or l**gsat.

satindex.de is also reporting only a short "stations became switched off"

and no official informations on Eutelsat website.

Massive amount of recent frequency changes on this Sat, possibly something to do with it
                      Check out on F..sat.
