Does anyone know if 4k requires different cabling/connections to the standard HDMI ports we use for 1080p?

Dish,LNB and Coax cable for the receiver will be absolutely fine.

If you have a 4K UHD as long as it is a 2015 model and above then it will be HDMI V2.0.

any HDMI cable that supports High Speed or High speed with Ethernet will work.

The Numbering for HDMI such as 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.3a,1.4 etc finished over 2 years ago.

The new standard is named:

Standard HDMI Cable – up to 1080i and 720p
Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet
Automotive HDMI Cable
High Speed HDMI Cable – 1080p, 4K, 3D and deep color
High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet

hdmi 1.4 (high speed with ethernet) should surely work.

HDMI 1.4 is mislabelled as the old standard for 4K UHD you should look for products that support HDMI 2.0 with HDR which the Solo 4K does support
