Really sorry to hear that buddy i always thought and still do that Panansonic lead the way for TV's closely followed by Samsung but after hearing this i now have reservations about the panasonic brand.

Fingers crossed that hopefully this can be resolved with a possible firmware update to your TV as we all know these days LED/LCD/Plasma TV's all have updates at some point to improve operation, My samsung's seems to get them literally every other week.

I doubt its the tuner as the Tuner's inside the Samsung's are just basic Satellite tuners that receive a signal it is then up to the other Hardware/Software in the display unit to resolve the Picture/Audio from the digital signal.

As the panasonic is clearly 4K UHD compatible the Hardware is there as explained above if enough people/Owners get in touch with panasonic and complain they may actually resolve this issue as it could just be a simple firmware update is all that is needed

Sadly this always seems to occur when there are no agreements set as to specifications,
every manufacturer decides to go their own way and, try to get their technology accepted.

As has been mentioned in some of the earlier posts in this thread
you could take your chance with one of the Samsung sets, there may well be others too,
but you take a chance. There always has to be transmission tests before any new system becomes available to the general public, these are for system checks and that is why Professional Stb's for testing them cost so much. I have no doubt that if you were prepared to pay around £2000.00 -£3000.00 you could probably find some, but even then you would not have a guarantee that you would have one with the final specification. Think of it like Philips v Betemax v VHS.

                regards mobley3

PS. I see Tata Sky India have a mention of a 4k Stb, other names are Technicolour and Pace UK.

Your 4k tv that you are talking about will be obsolete in a few months the oled TV's where put on show yesterday.
You can roll them up, they stick to the wall by magnets and are only 4mm thick cost about 5k for a 60" and the picture quality is far superior

Pearl.tv to launch Europe’s first FTA Ultra HD channel
Teleshopping broadcaster Pearl.tv will launch a channel in the new TV format offering a resolution four times higher than the HDTV standard in September 2015 on satellite system Astra (19.2° East).
The 24 hour service will be produced and broadcast 100% in native Ultra HD. For reception, DTH households will need an Ultra HD/4K TV set compliant with compression standard HEVC.
Pearl.tv will continue to broadcast in SD and HD resolution on Astra in addition to the Ultra HD channel.

Hoping that in a couple of years it will be a definitively accessible technology.

New UHD content for Eutelsat’s 4K channel

SPI International is previewing its first native Ultra HD content on the channel, which will appear on its own 4K FunBox UHD commercial network, which is scheduled to launch this autumn via Eutelsat’s Hot Bird satellite.

Anixe will air 15 minutes of exclusive Ultra HD content on Hot Bird 4K1 – including extracts of lifestyle and documentary programmes, a cooking show and outdoor productions.
