    motor problem? or something else?

I have a motech motor installed
has been for 6/7 years now, never had any trouble
from yesterday it is stuck on 13 east and won't turn when i try to go on another satelite
led on the motor is green , but reseted it just the same to be sure
my friend told me to check , cable, lnb, and connections before i buy another motor, BUT can it be That I have a good reception on Hotbird (where the dish is stuck) and have a 'bad' cable, or lnb To be honest I think I will buy a new one, because the dish have some backlash from the motor, but with the LED
    Any one had this problem?

    Hi

I suggest you to check all the F connectors before you buy a new motor.

Many times the moisture can cause serious damage in the connection and the volts are not enough to move the dish.

      hi koppi

if low and high frequencies and v and h polarisation are ok on hotbird, your lnb most probably is ok.

Ok so my LNB is OK because I have good signal on all channels on hotbird
thanks pan1100, so 1 option is cleared,
tomorrow I will check cable and connections as Kalpikos suggested, dirctly from near the dish/motor so I will conclude that those are ok or not

Could it be caused by capacitors in the recivers power supply.
Have you tried to connect another receiver?
I think that is a motor problem.

6 to 7 years is good it sounds to me like the motor has burnt out if you have tried a reset and checked all cable connections and hotbird is showing a good signal there is not a lot left have you tried another box to see if it move then

Have you actually tried to reset the Motor itself first via you receivers menu system by sending it to 'Zero' if this works then the dish will move to '0' position and clear the motor table and renew when next used.

The other option dependant on type of motor:

TM2300,2600,2100 have a reset pin under the motor body stick a fine metal pin inside until you feel the button click to reset

Darkmotor,CTH320,H380 have 2 buttons unscrew the Motor cable so no power is evident then hold both buttons in and replace Motor cable so that power is back LED's flash or stay constant for 10 seconds and then release.

Stab 90,100 have no reset on the motor itself has to be done via the receiver.

Re: motor problem? or something else?

                my motor is motech gs2100
it has LED-light, which is showing green
It has a reset button , you can reach through a hole at the bottom which I did tried. the led flashed for a bit than came green again
now tomorrow I will change the cable with new one , the one i have now is old more than the motor as i was on a fixed dish before i installed the motor
                if that does not work
I will try with another reciever
if not successful, I would say '''I tried them all '''no other option than to get a new motor
                thanks all for you suggestions

Does the motor moves with its buttons?
Very important delete east and west limits. Sometimes people set the limits on one stage so the motor doesnt move anymorge because its limited.

I have used the same lnb for over 15 years I don't believe these fail too often. Why don't you do a ****** search for SG_2100.pdf it might a good starting point.

Try new power adapter. I have some problem like you . In my case, it's broken resistor that converts the voltage. If you have another reciver try and if work reciver is ok

                            Hi

                            Maybe @zoran1 is right

Try other power supply with the similar characteristics of course.

A faulty power adapter may cause problems to the motor movement.

                              the poblem was>>
the main problem was the short cable from the motor to the LNB
but i changed the whole cable , from motor to decoder too, just to be sure, it has been installed about 8/9 years so it was a bit damaged too cause of sun/rain etc , so a new cable was due
gained some 5/10 % signal too
                              thanks to all
