    LNB lost Vertical signals

    Hi ,
I have a Kathrein BAS 63 Satelite Antenna, and since few days ago, i can only receive Horizontal signals with it.

I wonder if there's something i can do to the lnb for recover Vertical polarity.

Can the Discecq be the source of such problem ?

In the case of chaning the LNB for this kind of antenna, does it have a special name that i must look for ?

        Re: LNB lost Vertical signals

        Polarization V = 13,5 > 14 V
        Polarzation H = 17,5 > 18 V

you can measure it, but when H arrives it normally depends not by cable,
have a look at your receiver if you can measure switching to a V-channel 14 V and to a H-channel 18V at the Antenna-incoming-jack

you can ask Kathrein here --http://www.kathrein.de/en/service/service-processing/
        or here --http://www.kathrein.de/en/service/contact/

          hi cgac99

A few weeks ago I had the same thing at someone I know, H was fine, some V were fine and other V's didn't gave signal. In the end the lnb was faulty (a new one - same type - solved the problem, I believe cost was about 15 EUR).

              Re: LNB lost Vertical signals

              Hi Guys,
Welll at the other side of the cable , i have the good voltage for both H and V polarization.
              Thank's for the tip.
It's definituvely the Antena who have a problem.

Do someone know what kind of LNB is inside it ?
And if it is easy to access and change ?

              Thanks

I think isn't possible. LNB is build in the flat antenna.
Is my post useful for you? Please press sigpic

                        hello

shematically, a flat sat antenna is made of

                        - a vertical array and a horizontal array of receptor wires

                        - low noise amplificator

                        - a dephasor for each vertical and horizontal wire ( to vary the pointing vision angle)

                        i personnally:
                        - suspect some electronics failure. not from hardware wires
                        - think the hardware mades the price high
                        - instead of the electronics

                        so

if it is really the electronics, the composant interchange should be possible

i suggest you to get in touch with them
and investigate by mail or even by telephone
to your world wide class master vendor (Kathrein)
to help you to change this electronic default

and keep us inform from their feed-back

they are pro, strong and should justify their reputation
