I think you have to realise that the 5402Hd M1 version was initially released over 5 years ago and personally i dont know any manufacturer of any electrical item such as TV,Blu Ray etc.. that actually keep supporting products that are 5 years old.
My Samsung Smart TV which is approx 4 years old lost support after 2 years, If we all had support for old products then no one would buy anything new when technology changes.
I am unsure where you managed to source an M1 version just over 8 months ago as the M1 was phased out around 3 years ago to be replaced by the M2 and now the M3 which is approaching 18 months old
