    Just want to know.....

    Hi,

I am new on here & am wanting some information.
I know little about FreeSat and currently have a Samsung F5 SkyBox.

I currently pay £100 per/year to a bloke, who switches on all my channels.
However, 12 months later all the channels are switched off & I have to pay again.

Is there any way I can switch the channels back on myself?
Is it anything to do with CCcam Server Cline?

Any help would be most appreciated

Hello and welcome to the forum Chris .

First of all we need to sort out the terminology , Freesat is free to air channels distributed via satellite like BBC , ITV , CH4 and so on , no encryption , you don't need to have them switch on as they don't go off .

If you are referring to channels like Sky1 , Discovery and Movies then you are using a pay server and there is no way to get those channels , £100 a year seems a bit steep though nowadays , but if it's reliable and no freezes or blackouts it's cheaper than paying Sky .

Maybe you should invest in a Linux box and a official viewing card like a Focus Sat , available on ebay , cheap to run and start sharing yourself .

You can watch sky UK on CS with any enigma based receiver so this solution above is a good advice. You also can use official sky UK card in Linux Rec over cccam/newcs emu. Just need to install sky box key in newcs config emu.

        ...in sd-quality.

And as Triad said, the official card, but surely not for 100 pounds a year ( I don't know the price but perhaps for 2 months?).

The prices for 28.2e have dropped dramatically for a 12 month sub I've seen prices as low
          as £10, just ****** mate.

But mate if you are happy to spend £100 on a sub invest a few more £'s invest in a E2
receiver like a xtrend you won't be sorry and get a cheap sub.

I would suggest you to look for a linux based receiver like vu+ or dreambox for better results and for having more abilities.

Take a subscription with access to most popular packets or the packets that you really want and you will be ok.
