wifi dongle vu

hey guys my internet is down again for like the 3rd time this year and its only march.
im going to get a wifi dongle so i connect to my phone hotspot.
what i wanna know is will any wifi dongle work with a vu solo2 (vix 802build) or is it only certain dongles work??

if u know of any that work that are in argos, i would be grateful if u let me knows and i could get it straight away.

Hello

I think that with a TP-LINK wifi dongle as the solobari78 suggested , you would be ok.
Many people use TP-LINK wifi dongle without problems.

You have to know that not all wifi dongle are supported because they need specific drivers in order to work properly.
Each team has a list of working wifi dongles, and maybe you should ask the vix team to tell you for sure if a certain model works or not.

thanks guys i got the one ye suggested but can't seem to get it up and running. i got the rt2800usb driver for it from h**p://enigma2.world-of-satellite.com/feeds/3.0/vuuno/all/enigma2-plugin-drivers-network-usb-rt2800_1.0-r1_all.ipk but get an error when trying to install i brought the box to my bros house to download the driver from vix plugin center but was getting an error no matter what the plugin i was trying to install

Are you sure that the drivers you want to install is for the vu+solo2?
I think the link you mentioned above is for vuuno.

Try a good search in wix page to find the correct drivers for your box.

i searched high and low for the correct .ipk but they are the only ones i could find.
i changed the vuuno to solo2 in the link i gave u above and got the same .ipk and same error when i tried to install it.

Maybe you have to use the usb-rt5572 drivers for vusolo2.
Try again on wix page and ask for help because this is an issue for vix team.

i tried to install a load of them from the vix plugin center but was getting errors maybe their servers were down. i will bring the box down to my bros later and check again.
the rt2800 drivers are the ones i was told by wix to get. they haven't replied to any other of my posts..

I think that they have understand that you have a vu+ uno receiver and not a vusolo2.
Try again my friend to vix page and search carefully for the correct drivers.

i tried high and low. for the right drivers and couldn't find any that worked i brought back the wifi dongle and got a wifi bridge(150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router TL-WR702N) instead but having problems with this too. it will connect to my home router and work fine(i can't check if it goes on the net as my net is down) but it will connect to my fone but is not able to use the internet on my phone for some reason. anything(laptop, phone) else i have connected to the phones wifi works fine. i downloaded the newest firmware for the wifi bridge but same issues. i thought it was just unable to connect to a phones internet until my friend called and i connected it to his fones wifi and it worked perfect. was able to access encrypted channels and ping other devices connected to the wifi. then i thought it was my phone that was the problem so i bought a tp link 3G Mobile Wi-Fi M5350 but get the same issues with that as with my phone. then thought it was the sim card issue so go another sim card but same problem again. the 3g mobile works fine if i connect to it with any other device except the wifi bridge.



so far what i have tried
changing the ssid to same as my friends phone that worked
changing encryption.
having no encryption.
changing wifi channel.
i have tired loads more but couldn't be bodered listing them

FIXED

i manged to get it working in repeater mode after a full factory reset but still can't get it to work in bridge but at least i can watch some telly now even if it is glitchly due to the bad latency of the 3g internet
