      Re: bbc

I do like some of the beeb's programming, I think that BBC and Channel 4 generally show the best factual/drama/investigative stories etc... however, considering Channel 4 aren't paid for by the taxpayer they can do whatever the hell they like. In regards to the BBC (admittedly I am not sure if they have a proper process for this), I would like for the fee payer to have a bigger say on what is shown on those channels. Far too often, I come across shows that I am just not interested in. The ones I could find entertainting one way or another, they don't advertise well enough.

You would have to think it would be BBC4 given it's viewing figures. Don't think I've ever watched BBC4 in its history.

Licence fee won't be changing until 2017 and I doubt it will drop, may be frozen again at best I suspect.

They are going to dump BBC3 and make it a online only channel. No more family Guy etc.

They have bben talking about merging some content into BBC1 and BBC2 so it might not be the end of Family Guy!

It is time that the BBC was made to go private and pay for themselves rather than being kept by public forced subscriptions,
They do more advertising than the independent companies between shows all their programs are now made into 50 minute sections the other 10 mins is spent advertising themselves. and the money they squander on staff is unbelievable.
And their viewing content is not that good they show a lot of repeats.

Seriously? The only part of that rant that has any element of truth is the amount spent on staff.

They don't advertise or have longer gaps between programs than commercial channels, they still produce much of the best content from around the world, their online services are excellent and all for £12 a month! We should be proud of the BBC, when I'm out of the country I'm always reminded how good the BBC is.

If you watch BBC you will see their ads. they fill it with ads for their programs they are going to show. and they are made this way so that if they manage to sell it overseas it is already cut to size for the commercial market.
You can go and have a shower at the end of a program and be back at front of the tv before the next program starts.
Also the amount of reruns that they do must account for 50% of their broadcasts and 40% of what is left is rubbish and the 10% is first class.

i couldn't see that happen as people actually watch that channel compared to bbc4 which i don't think i have ever watched.

i may have a banger if they do, without my family guy fix

I don't watch BBC4 at all, and only watch BBC3 for Family Guy, so as long as that moves to 1 or 2 I'll be happy.
I presume that CBBC will be cut as well. (Not that it bothers me)
