    turning off s*y audio commentary

    Hi,

On most of film channels I get "audio commentary", have check and can't seem to be able to turn this feature off.
I am using latest Openpli on Xtrend Et4000 (for your info).

    Thanks

    hi foxy6800

What exactly do you mean with 'commentary'? Isn't there an audio button on the remote, or some audio setting in the menu (preference language or so)? If it has something to do with the image, sorry I can't help you.

ps: if you can give me an example of a channel (sat/name/freq/sid), I could check for you if you want (I have Astra 1, 2, 3 and Hotbird).

      hi

just an idea to test :

you can choose the language out the audio channel:

      en fr ge it ...

under the assumption 'audio commentary' is related to the audio channel (to be specified), if i have such an so-called audio channel

      audio commentary

it may deal with additional film comment especially for visually impaired blind people

      ... to test

if you do not want the audio on just turn the volume down to zero, or press the mute button, simples.

          sorry for the confusion,
Lets say I am watching s*y movie 1, whatever happens on the screen is being explained i.e "He walks to the bar and wait to be served". I think this is a feature for blind people so they can follow what is happening while people moving about.

I have checked the sound setting, but can't see an option to turn this feature off

Is this not a feature of your TV? on my Sony TV there is a Subtitle menu which enables commentary for the Hard of Hearing. Maybe your set is similar.

This is very similar to Subtitle. Subtitle is for people with hearing problem and Audio Commentary is for people with vision problem. I know that some of the cinemas offer this service (feature) , but surely there should be a way of turning this off, just like switching off the subtitle?!!

To turn the NAR off on all of the 28.2° east channels then you need to select the 'prefer AC3 audio' in your receiver image menu.

NAR = Narrative audio for the Blind

There is no NAR on the AC3 track on any of the 28.2° east channels
