I tested it on another laptop with vista, and it didn't work initially.
I reinstalled the latest version of vlc vlc-2.1.0-win32.exe
I selected perge preferences during installation.
And it worked properly.
I can re-enable error messages or enable logging, to try to see what's the problem on your side but please try what's in this post and my previous post.
It's working for me on windows 7 and vista, both 64 bits.

Please double check the settings.
Box control, if I remember correctly, is through http and can be done without authentication.
Updating channel list is done via ftp.
So I guess, if your settings are correctly entered, that either there is something blocking ftp, or the file organization isn't like on my box.
I check this path: \etc\enigma2 for bouquets.tv and lamedb.
bouquets.tv has the names of bouquet files, and lamedb has channel info.

Hi still no luck with this I always when I install vlc clear the preferences and for good measure I delete the installation folder.

So if you would like to enable logging and error reporting perhaps I can post it back here

Just tried it on my laptop upstairs this is fairly recent install of windows 7 32bit. I tried with the version of vlc that was already installed 2.0.8. This is intresting although your program would not run vlc the sound Icon bottom right was not crossed out and would let me alter the sound level

I uninstalled vlc and installed latest version but the result was the same as my main pc

OK, I removed exception handling.
Any problem should pop up as unhandled exception.
Please try this and tell me if you get error messages.

Sorry, that's still not the problem.
Please try this, it should update channels. We need to see if there's an error when you click a channel

Crop and aspect are initially blank since default values are used for both. But audio shouldn't be.

Please try this one, when you click a channel, it should pop up notepad or default text editor with a link to the stream the program is attempting to play. Please try to paste the link into firefox... and open it, or open it with vlc with any other way.

I can't test bbc since I don't receive it but I just tested sky1 and discovery (11874h) and both were working. I hope if you could try the same channels.

You can also check through web browser if this gives audio tracks:

It works for me on dreambox 800se clone. I don't know if it has the same system as others or not.

Anyway, did you enter ip, user, pass and select update channels?
