What difference is between a dreambox 800SE and a dreambox 800SE V2.

The differences are:

The new hardware (DM800se V2) components mean that the flash memory in both Dreamboxes is increased to 1 GB. The random access memory capacity is doubled to 512 MB

The 800se have 64MByte Flash, 256 MByte RAM.

Yes mate, it's true

I have seen this receiver working with original image and I was impressed.
The a8p sim is working very well with the dm800se clone but unfortunately the new version of clones will be delay for some months.
The manufactures of clones have only the old version of dm800se and a version with wi-fi together with a8p sim.

I can see in dmm page the new firmware for DM800HDse V2
here is the page:

...and that's means that DM800HDse V2 is an official version of dmm.

I agree with it that DM800HD se v2 is natural evolution step in DM policy...
Taken into account that the rec is twice stronger than it's older brother I clearly see every reason in duplicating it's memory/proc. power.
Also, considering the fact that my DM800HD is quite warm after viewing only 1hour of full HD channel, that I had to install custom made SCART power supply laptop cooler to keep it somewhat cool.
Still, zapping between channels tends to be slow!!!?

This rec. after all is only viable result after this much time.
DM is quality firm after all, not quantity based as new fast track techie "far east movement"...

The overheating problem on dm800hd is a very serious problem and and can be fixed only by putting a small fan over the cpu of the receiver.

The other boxes as dm500hd or dm800se don't have this problem, or there some clones with very bad quality that can have the problem of overheating.

Small fan is usualy noisy, it is better to put larger but slower fan, or evan larger pasive cooler.

You are right zoran89

It's better using a bigger silent fan because it's very annoying to hear it all the time when you are watching tv.
The passive cooler I think is a little dangerous for this box.

That is true. In my DM500HD I can manually adjust fan speed if I need it, so I have not experienced overheating still now.
