The only you can do is play with the settings.
Go to menu/setup/system/AV settings and change to 16:9 or 4:3 or play with pan-scan setting.

Also you can search you tv-set about a zoom mode.
Latest tv have many zoom modes that can play with them.

Some images display smaller video during zapping, or in some other menus.
If this option is available, the option to zoom should be available as well.
Any ideas?

as a raw zoom algorithm to prettify the screen when zapping

a sat rcvr is not a final screen displayer !

use your tv to zoom in/out - the tv decides the scale of the output

My TV doesn't have zoom options.
That's why I'm asking whether the receiver can do it.

If you only want to get rid of the black bars on edge of the picture,
use as I said above the settings of your box.
Play with them in order to get the result that you satisfy.

why you want to zoom image ?

if it is because some channels look different than others with black bars or smaller frame it's because they transmit in different mode 4/3 16/9 etc.

if this is your problem then look at your tv settings menu config and also as dear kalpikos wrote your stb a/v settings menu and choose the best compination.

especially stb enigma boxes have a/v settings menu that you can choose how 4/3 and 16/9 image on sat channels should be processed from them.

there is a plugin called aspect ratio switch that makes it possible to switch between different sizes between 4:3 and 16:10, don't know if it's available for all receivers. Myself using it on my vu+ duo.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough.
I don't mean the aspect ratio.
I mean to just increase the size of part of the video, say double its size. For example to increase the size of the news bar so it is easier to read.
Just like you zoom an image on pc.
