Re: Is it end of 3D technology in tv?

I did a little search for the 3d starter pack and I saw a price about $400.

So, I think that it's not a very good buy, considering that you have to have a 3d ready tv-set of a certain model.

In my opinion, it's better to buy a tv with 3d and glasses from the beginning and avoid such additional packs.

      Hello Clark197,
The nice thing about it is that you can see 3D on standard (non 3D) screens.
      Naturaly you still need glasses.

      @kalpikos
The high price of the unit may not justify it.
But if you have a large screen and want save on purchasing a new one, it make som sense to get one.

        @BM300
        you are right!
I forgot that some people may have a 55' or 60' tv and they have spent a little fortune to buy them, but they can't watch 3d,
so , in this case .... yes, it's a very useful gadget for them.

if I understood correctly, by buying the box we obtain the effect 3D, 3D TV has a function to convert 2D to 3D, but with full 3D effect no

Companies are working in 3D technology without glasses.
Nintendo 3DS is an example, but really it doesn't works fine. Headache are very common each time you use this device, so we must wait for a smoother 3D technology.
Manufacturers now on are developing 4K technology, 3D without glasses and Holographic technology.
We will see amazings tech discovers nearly.
And about an aditional 3D device between tuner and tv set, I don't think is a good idea, because of price, it is very expensive. Is better buying a 3D TV.
            Best regards.

I think 3D is not fundamental….if you have a tv that support this technology ok, but if you don't it doesn't matter…I had a 3D tv but I watched a 3D program just three times, (my wife had an headache!)….it's a new technology, it needs more time I think

Re: Is it end of 3D technology in tv?

As the price of Ultra HD sets continues to drop I believe that 3D will find less and less of a market, especially when you take into account that it has already been around for a couple of seasons. The problems with people suffering from headaches and also the small amount of available content does not help. Certainly it may help with a glasses free solution but, I think it may be too late.

Well if you look at Nintendo they have released the 2ds as people just don't need full 3d.
I would prefer a crystal sharp picture, than the blurry 3d offerings.
Your brain makes it look 3d anyway ,,

I was about to buy a tv with 3d but I think I will waiting for an ultraHD tv.
I tried 3d on a 50' LG led but I'm not very satisfied.

I believe when the ultraHD tvs will have more reasonable prices, then we will see very spectacular results.

This technology is invented some years ago.

I remember last year when I was in a big store , I saw a Samsung 3D TV without glasses playing a Blu-ray disk.
The result was spectacular but not the expected for its cost.

I think that the development of this technology stopped.

The 3D did not have great success. The 3D has no future.
The successor of the HD will be 4K. (Ultra High Definition).

I want to say one thing on this item.
Some years ago, 2 or 3, while i was waiting the flight in Shenzen Airport (China), I saw several special monitor with a program demo running on it.
This demo was about some video created with computer graphics, such as animal and thing moving on the screen.

All you guy my believe me or not, but i realized that the objects that appeared on these monitors, were out from the screen.
It was a 3D video, without glass.

The images in 3D, had natural appearence and colours.
Animals with computer graphics came out from the screen and then went back inside it. It was amazing and beatiful.

Lately, i looked in the market for this technology, to know how it worked, but without any other information.

Maybe, this technology depends on video created with computer graphics, but i'm not sure on this.

In any case it is possible to create video 3D without glass. I and my boss saw it.

Does anybody knows something about this?

                            Bye

As i have said before only time will tell if 3 d will stay i believe it will and it will get better and will be the norm in everyone house in the future once the use of glasses is sorted
