Take a look at h**p://www.dishpointer.com this will give you a pretty good idea about where to aim your dish.

You are going to require a big dish for 13e in Pakistan. You're right on the edge of the footprint for that satellite there, you'll probably be needing a 2 metre dish.

The "absolute" position (13°) is everywhere the same on earth. The "relative" position depends where you are.
To find the correct position you need a "reference-sat-position" to turn left or right from there.

That's much more the problem to receive usefull signals when you are at the very edge of a footprint - in your case hotbird. You'll need expensive equipment.

I would check with _www.kingofsat.net where you can get all the details and size of dish you need.

The satellite is located 13 degrees east at an altitude of 36,000 km above the equator.
Azimuth and alevation dependent on the location of the dish.

Hotbird is on 13°E but you need a realy big dish in order to have good signal in many frequencies.
I know people in pakistan having good signal with 2m or bigger dish.
Of course, all depends on where is your location.

                  2 meters or bigger?
the lnb is still important with this type of dish?

And regarding the topic ,a diseq should be usefull for ajusting the signal ?

                    Diseq
How diseqc can be usefull for ajusting the signal ?
Without diseqc, do you think that it's impossible to get signal from Hotbird?
                    Could you be more clear?

                      Re: hotbird

Adding in a Diseqc switch when you are struggling on the edge of a footprint would not be a good idea, any switching arrangement will cause some signal loss and to retain a reliable signal you need the best possible gain from both Lnb and Dish.

I'm not completely sure this works, but if you have an android device, you can try this application, that directs you to the rough satellite position and then you can work your way around there.

Aiming with the parables of 2 meters must be very precise. Small displacements cause the total loss of the signal. it is appropriate to use six highly sensitive measuring instruments
