    ECM-PID's fo rBISS key's

I read a post recently from REDHEZUK on how to enter a Biss key into a Spiderbox HD (04/10/12).

It all seemed quite simple so I thought I would give it a try and gain some more experience in using my Spiderbox.

However, after getting cross eyed with searching through many posts and web sites I still cannot find out where or how the ECM-PID data is derived from !
    Questions(s)
Is there a web site that shows the ECM-PID data on BISS channels!
Is it part of the channel data that is then converted into hex using an MS Vb routine or using the DEC2HEX function in MS Excel !
And. If you are using a Biss key, will it conflict with any clines that are currently being used !

Any help on these questions will be most welcome.

      hi,

      the reference page __http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-13E.php ,

gives you pid (video, audio, audio1,2, ..., teletext, ...)

      as suggested by this fragment:

Encryption SID VPID Audio PMT PCR TXT
      4404 163 92 pol 1004 163 516 2013-03-28 +

of course, other satellites are listed

i hope this helps for your BISS

The most common ECM PID (as mentioned above) is 1FFF (HEX) 8191 in Decimal.

For most channels you can leave the value as 0000 and it will still work anyway.

Occasionally 1FFE (HEX), 8190 in Decimal is used.

And for CTV HD and the others on 10E 11389V the ECM PID is 0191 (HEX)

Hope this helps.....and unless Biss is shared on the server (not very common) there will be no conflict whatsoever!!

Thanks for all of your replies guys.

I now have a better understanding of the ECM-PID.

I start with 0000 and if that doesn’t open the channel then the most popular one (1FFF) is used, and if that one doesn’t work then I have to go through a list (which has still to be compiled) of other ones that I find on the web.

If at first you don’t succeed…try…try…again eh!
