    Uplink or receiving problem?

Yesterday evening while watching football "spain - tahiti" I had massive receiving problems while it was rainig outside - but not so heavy that I had expected completly signal loss.
Is it possible that there were uplink problems on astra 19,2 yesterday evening?

I was watching Astra 19,2 east yesterday evening, but I didn't experience such problems like you. For me, everything worked fine.

      I'm wondering a bit.
I have a 90cm dish, diseqc 4in1 and 19,2 nearly focused in the middle.
Normaly I have a good snr, but yesterday nothing on astra so I switched to hotbird and everything was (nearly) ok???

This problem makes me curious. I have just asked my friends who watch Astra 19,2 to be more sure. None of them experienced problems with the receiving. And now everything works fine at you on Astra 19,2 east?

If 13e is ok but 19.2e isn't, you might have a problem with cable, lnb or diseqc switch.
13e and 19.2e are both really strong birds, so a 90cm dish should be more than adequate.

            This morning everything was fine.

Perhaps I forgot something: It's not the weather directly above, It's the weather 5 to 20 km to the south of your dish-position that makes the influence of the receiving-result. I believe that was the reason!
If all others received 19,2 without problems, the uplink was ok!

Maybe try a little fine tuning on the Astra LNB. Re-focus by increasing/decreasing Skew or
              moving in/out in mounting clamp.

              Regards Mobley3

Normaly I have signal strength of 90% and snr of ~80%.
The loss of picture beginns at snr ~45% on my receiver.

In germany we had yesterday very heavy rain in some areas. My problem was that I saw the rain outside, but not so much. So I was surprised about the completly signal loss on all astra transponders. As said before, it's not necessary for massive signal loss that the heavy rain is above you.

Rainy and hot temperature? Lnb Connector (plug) worn out (or old)? If Yes, maybe this is tre problem. Clean the connector

                    hi Satphoenix

Yesterday evening (think between 20 and 21h) I had exactly the same as you: total loss, but pretty sure it was on all sats, after about 15 mins it all automatically came back (left it on a fta channel on astra 1) - belgium near coast - also pretty sure it was the weather condition (think the heavy rain came froł Germany).
Was really heavy rain, never had seen this total loss before.

OK pan1100, that's the last proof for me. I live near the belgium border.
By the way, the snr from hotbird was reduced yesterday to ~50%. That was (i thought at this moment) because of the rain. But astra lost the signal completly - and that was a bit strange.
Now everything is back to normal.

Others had same effects - was a local strange weather effect. Thank you all!

Local heavy rain between the dish and the satellite can cause a complete loss of signal.
This failure usually takes just a few minutes.
