Skybox F5

Hello all !1st post!
I had a dm500s clone working fine and recieved a skybox f5 yesterday!I updated to the last firmware ,added a cline but not all of the encrypted channels work.I can watch js* sports hd and sd ,and some polish channels.I mostly care about n*va (Greece) channels.I switched to my dm500 again and everything works fine,so something is wrong with skybox.

Also for those who ask about the pic quality,hd is great but i'm not impressed about the sd.

Do you receive the greek channels, but are they scrambled? Check with king of sat or lyngsat if the transponders are correct ; perhaps delete the channels and rescan could help.

hey pan,thanks for the reply!Yes i recieve the channles and most of them are scrambled.HD channels don't play at all.I'm new to this so could you please explain what king of sat and lyngsat are?also i have made many rescans!!

None of the nova hd channels will work as hd channels are not open atm moment have you tried a up to date channel list for sd channels

A friend of mine with the same provider told me that hd channels are open but i will check again.What do u mean about the list?Load a list?I have mad many rescans

Lyngsat and king of sats are websites where you can find useful information
for example for nova greece you get "Nova on Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B/13C at
13.0°E" which tells you which satellite to choose to scan on your F5 also it
gives info on individual transponders if you want to enter manually and scan
certain channels.

Well on your F5 on the satellite list select Hot Bird 13B/13C then do a scan you should get
all the channels you are after, if channels not clear then you have either not entered you
sealion correctly or not activated it.

Thanks for the replies!I have no problems with scanning.I said that i can watch many encoded channels including jsc sports hd and sd some polish as well ,the problem is with n*va greece!i was watching cinema1 about 2 hours ago but now it doesn't open!!!If i switch to my dm500 all channels play fine!
Also;how to load a channel list (not by scanning)?

first i like to welcome you to the forum. the same way you enter the clines you can update the channels list. your new list can be found here _http://satellites-xml.eu/ in this forum you can find many guides.

ok today all channels play fine!although i haven't done anything!!!!My provider told me about cccam priority ; any ideas about how to install it on my skybox?I can guess what it is but i don't know how it works exactly.Could it help some specific channels play better?Please help!

The cccam priority is already there as CCcam.prio file but it is not used by the
skybox anyway if you only have one provider then it is not needed.
CCcam.prio file will not mean some specific channels will clear but that if you
have more then one provider you can give importance to one provider more
then the other eg ecm will be sent to the important provider first if only there
is problem the ecm will be sent to other.

p.s the problem had probably been with your provider in the first place trying to
confuse so no blame comes to them.

If you are getting more freezing with the F5 then it may be it is not as good as
the dm 500 in it connecting to the internet, tip that seems to work with some
people is set the channel on the router between 1-6 the Chinese boxes seem
to work better with the lower range of channels.

The picture quality should be better on the F5 then on dm 500, on your F5 remote
have you tried pressing the video (v) format to see which gives you the best result.

the quality of the picture in SD receiver Skybox F5 you don't get the ideal, as it is a budget receiver, and the picture quality of hd at the level of the best receivers of other brands
