    Skybox M3 and F5

I have some knowledge of setting up the Skybox M3 and am thinking of getting a F5 next does anyone know if i can use the same M3 files on the F5. Information about the F5 seems very limited at the moment.
Anyone already own an F5 who could tell me if its any good.

    cheers

you can use the same channel list and the same EMU.
I believe that the firm is different

The Firmware is the same for the M3/F3/F5 they are literally the exact same receiver just in different cases. The M3 howevr does have the better tuner out of all the F3/F5 series as it uses the Sharp Tuner

The firmware and channel list are the same for M3/F3/F5 but there have been
some issues with the F5, on some the IR sensor has been badly placed
therefore trouble using the remote control people had to resort to getting a
external usb IR sensor, wifi on some seem to be dodgy too.
The rs232 recovery kit that usually works with M3/F3 doesn't seem to work with the F5.

        This one does though:

Never tried the M3 but I have been using a F5 for few weeks and quite happy.
Really easy to setup, upgrade firmware, add channels and put cline.
The only issue I have is that when I'm on a scrambled channel for a few time, the F5 restarts alone in a loop... but apart from this I am really happy, for £50 I can't complain.
Image quality is the best thing of the box for me after upgrading from DM500S.

if you think tha f5 is the Skybox M3 upgrade then think again. from what i read so far (not own any of them) there are almost the same.

              Cheers

Ok i got both now, it is early days but this is my view on them. M3 pain in the arse slow and unresponsive, f5 goes like the clappers. Picture quality on both is good. the slight difference in firmware means the fav option on the F5 is better as it shows the which channels are in the fav group. The F5 can store upto 30 fav groups the M3 only 23. The M3 look cheap almost like a toy where as the F5 looks sleek and stylish.

Give the choice i prefer the F5.

Just a quick update about the skybox f5, the ******* app didn't work but is a known fault which can be fixed by updating to the latest version of the firmware available from the Skybox website.
