Motorised from south of the equator

I came from Germany to Kenya with my dish motor many years ago and could never figure out or find instructions for alignment from south of the equator. I know how to set it all up from the North but from down here is a whole other story.

If anyone know or can point me towards some instructions, it would be much
    appreciated.

For starters, Im at 39e / 3s....with 36e bird right overhead.

By being here in the south, the numbers(degrees) on the arc are reversed. Like a mirror affect from the north. From here, west is to the left and east to the right.

You should have a look in your Receiver Motor settings.
Long and Lat. Change the Lat to South and have a look at Dishpointers or ****** earth for your Longitude settings.Think this may sort you out. Is your Motor a Usals one or Diseqc ? Have you asked anyone local for info. ?

try to use a receiver that has in the menu a special function for motorized dish and enter you position (longitude and latitude)

If there is a possibility to see how the neighbors are set to the antenna, and you can try to set the same. It is quite a difficult task but you have to start from something. You can also ask a neighbor to which the satellite is set to its antenna.

        Code:

The motor that I have is a diseqc and the manual/company website has not given me any information to my question.
However, i have done some further research and found that different companies make these motors in two types. "True south" for use north of the equator and "True north" for use from south of the equator.
Since mine was purchased in Europe, it must be a true south config. My problem has been in staying with the arc when rotating from one point to another.
Atleast it has still been used all these years as good mounting hardware.
