    Dreambox "Tunning failed"

Hey guys, i would have some questions you maybe could help me tried already some things but i can't get it to work. Well it's my dreambox, after i've purchased the premium last month it started with the problem the channels were showing just a black screen or didn't work either. So i decided to make a new automatic search for the channels that most of the times solved the problem. But now it doesn't, i updated the files like, prio,channelinfo,satelites.xml,etc... But when i make a search it doesn't find anymore the 1667 channels it normally found when all has worked normally, now it finds maybe 226 or less. Either the channels like RTL(germany) and RTL2 and other FTAC's don't work i get errors like "Tunning failed" and then i can see a picture but very badly(like almost everything black or mosaic) and hear a bit of the sound but i don't work. I use Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13.0 and i have a DM800HDse and don't know what to try anymore so a bit help from you guys would be nice, cause i'm not a that big professional at satelites and that stuff. And yes the DM is connected to the internet via LAN.

    Thanks in advance!
If you think my post was helpfull for you, i would be glad if you click the thanks button.

    hi,
the had the same problem for one year. I thought my receiver was broked. The satelites.xml update was the problem. I thing it is your problem too.
Try to get a new one.
The 226 are your last Bouquet channel. This channel are always there if you don't delete it.

It could be a problem with the tuner or with DiSEqC too.

            Hi,

The image comes with a built-in satellites.xml, located in etc/tuxbox. This is a system-file. it can't be replace.
i thing there ist and crc_check somewhere on the image. if you update this file (i thing that you done it, and that was my mistake)
the file will be reject by the system. => no channels

if you want to use a new customised satellites.xml, placed in etc/enigma2. and restart your box.
this file takes priority over the system-file in etc/tuxbox. After that make a search.

i just update my last post with a new satellites.xml file (download from satellites-xml.eu/) put it in etc/enigma2.

i just test it on my box(DM800HDse) and it work.

            Regards
            Clark

Are you sure about your dish antenna ? Because satellite.xml may have minor change with very few channels, I think some strong wind or storm disturb your dish or LNB

                hi ProgSkEEtO

May sound a bit old fashioned, but I suggest you check with eg king of sats or lyngsat, take a transponder, enter it manually and check if you have all channels of that tp. ITry this with a few tp's, so you'll know that your tuners is ok or not and picks all channels up or not. Another option (if available) is to do a blindscan (but can take up to a few hours per satellite).

fyi: see http://www.satlover.eu/forum/satelli...nsponeder.html with links to the strongest and the weakest transponders.

Also - thanks rizwan, just saw you post and almost forgot - check your dis setup/alignment.

                  Hi mate

I think that your problem is your antenna aligment.
You have to move slightly your dish in order to take stronger signal.
If you don't know how to do it, call a technician to align your antenna.
Another idea is to check if there is a faulty lnb, or an old cable with problems.

                    Re: Dreambox "Tunning failed"

Ok guys, first of all thanks for all the responses... Well what i've done till now was changing the satelites.xml file, but have to go back to the city where i study so i have to wait till the next weekend till i can test the other things. Well what i did, was i moved the sat-cable that goes into the tuner of the box a bit and voila there was a better picture, after moving it a bit around it seems like it got better, but if i would move it again i'm sure it would be a almost black screen again. So i left it like that for now. We had no storm or something, either i haven't move the dish or something similiar it is fixed and there should be a really hard storm to move this so i don't think it's the dish. I have seen another problem which i forgot to post, well i have an active internet connection and tried to download some plugins but under when i go into the plugin menu and select show all or install emus or something else it just shows what i have installed, not any other packages i can download. I tested my connection everything was ok. So where could be the problem...
If you think my post was helpfull for you, i would be glad if you click the thanks button.

When you talked about the plugins problem, then i think you should try with another image and see if any diffrence as there might be some corruption somewhere in the system casuing this problems.

                        You have a Dreambox.
Why don’t you load the latest settings, say from cst (cyrus), from time to time?
It comes complete with the latest satellite.xml etc. and updated channel list.
                        I do that every month.
                        Good luck.

Where can i find those settings and i don't know if we can use the same settings as we are from different continents or do you use Astra 19.2E and Hotbird 13.0 too? Did you find them under the dreambox sections below?

At the beginning Try to install the new image. It is possible that you have plenty of junk in the Dreambox. If you are installing a lot of plug-ins from time to time it is worth to upload a new image. Remember that the best are original image from OpenPli, BH, etc. Do not use the backup image.

                              Hi mate

I didn't found too these cyrus settings
but, there many ready made settings as them
                              e.g. Vhannibal Settings E2
                              here: -http://www.satlover.eu/forum/dreambox-settings/9233-latest-vhannibal-settings-e2.html

Go to the last page and find the file having only the sattelites you want.
Then, use DreamboxEdit to transfer all these data to your box.
