Choosing the best system for my needs

    Hello

I need some help choosing the best system for my needs, I am a sport trader and on my work computer I have 5 monitors where I can watch 3 games simultaneously...

I need a sat system to watch at least two channels simultaneously so I've been looking for twin tuners. I really liked the Amiko alien 2 twin tuner
because of having webserver function and is cheap.

What I need to know about alien 2 is if I can stream two channels simultaneously or at least watch one on tv and stream another one simultaneously.

Another solution would be to install two SkyStar 2 HD cards on my work computer or other card with dual tuner but I dont know if these cards consume much cpu and ram...

What is the best choice for my needs?

Mostly twin tuners work as One channel watch and other Record, Use 2 cheap STB to watch 2 channels at a time
    Vu+ Solo2
    Dream Box 800HD,
    Neotion 3000, Skystar2, PTCL IPTV
    HP LCD W2338h
    Samsung LED 40 C5000

Two single tuner boxes such as the skybox f3 will give you the most flexible option.

I agree, and it would also be the cheaper option.

            hi,

cheap and good don't go together. But like 'lotuselite' say early skybox f3 is a good option.

            have a look at:
            - VU+ Duo
            - XTrend ET9200

please use ****** or the search function in Forum.

              Hello @mmoloch and welcome

I think the best choice for you is to buy a dvb card for your computer.
Don't worry about cpu consume, unless you have a very old pc.

              I suggest you this card:
              TBS6981 PCI-E DVB-S2 Dual Tuner TV card
              -http://www.tbsdtv.com/products/tbs6981-dvb-s2-dual-tuner-pcie-card.html
It's price is about 90 Euro

or if you want a Quad Tuner card:
TBS 6984 PCI-E DVB-S2 Quad Tuner TV Card
              -http://www.tbsdtv.com/products/tbs6984-dvb-s2-quad-tuner-pcie-card.html
Its price is a little higher... about 250 Euro

              I hope helped you

I had already thought of a solution with two single tuner boxes like openbox/skybox but in that case I will need two clines and wanted to avoid that but if it is the best solution...

I just found a Amiko alien 2 triple tuner version review with lots of information that had not yet found...

"... Thanks to its three builtin tuners it is possible to record two different events at the same time while watching a third channel live. The receiver will automatically switch between the two satellite receivers and on the channel list all those channels that cannot be watched live while two other channels are recorded are shown with grey background. It doesn’t make a difference whether you make one DVB-T/C and one DVB-S2 recording or two DVB-S2
recordings, the selection is entirely up to you...."

"... The Amiko Alien is a receiver with two fullyfledged DVB-S2 tuners, which means that all settings can be adjusted individually for each tuner. In case you want or have to use this box with only a single line it is possible to hand
over the signal from tuner 1 to tuner 2 – this is neatly implemented in the operating software...."

I'm noob but if the box can record two channels at the same time does not mean that I can watch two channels simultaneously?! lol

How would you output 2 different channels from the same box at the same time. Unless you can do something with the PIP feature.

The idea was to use the webserver to send two streams to pc or watch tuner1 channel on tv and stream tuner2 channel to pc.

The TBS6981 DVB-S2 Dual Tuner PCIe Card seems to be a good solution but the description just says it can record two channels simultaneous as the description of alien2, neither says I can watch two simultaneous channels

do you watch channels of different satellites? Or only on sat, for example Hispasat?
                      Please push thanks.

You are right my friend, I'm sorry

...but I found the correct card

TBS6991 DVB-S2 Dual Tuner Dual CI PCIe Card
                        -http://www.tbsdtv.com/products/tbs6991-dvb-s2-dual-tuner-dual-ci-pcie-card.html

it's price is about: 160 Euro

                        in the description says:

"You may use one tuner to watch one TV channel
while using another tuner to record/watch another channel
                        from another transponder/ satellite simultaneously"

so, I think is exactly what you want

For now it will be only for hispasat but soon I will install an motor and the idea was to have a sat in each tuner, hispasat tuner1 astra2 tuner2.

I believe that with TBS6981 or alien2 I can also watch two simultaneous channels and that the descriptions are incomplete. If the receivers are capable of recording two channels in simultaneous should also give to watch two channels... or not? lol

VU+ is a good choice, linux, enigma, streaming, but its not cheap
and dont buy XTrend ET9200, it has got problems with tuner2 with higher symbol rates, e.g. S/R 30000, mainly you could see that on HD programs on Thor 1W!

if 2 channels being in one tp you can use 2 channels in same times but if 2 channels being in 2 diffrent tp you need second tuner.
