openmind firmware used, I have the 800HD only, and is much better and more network plugins that team And you can update from within the decoder.
Anyway when you install another firmware updated the boot loader to the latest version?

Do you use the right firmware ?
Try to reinstall bootloader (get the latest bootloader) and then install the image you want.
