HD DVB receiver and video player?

Hi! I have a DM800 HD and i just bought a NAS to put all my video files in my local network. With my DM800 i can see my NAS on my tv but can't play the files, the DM800 can only play TS movies i guess so all my divx and mkv are not supported... Do you know a good HD dvb receiver similar to the dreambox (i like enigma2) and which can play all my video files without any problem (divx, mkv, mp4??).

i have a goldenmedia 990 (fulan7111 series = amiko alien, edison pingulux....) which can mount several nas drives and can read divx and mkv with dts without any problems... mp4 not testet yet
i think its a good box and not expensive, has although a dual boot system with spark/enigma2 or whatever you want to install

i am sure that the DM800 can play mkv, why dont you convert your movies in to the mkv format or use vlc player.

vlc player plugin on dm800 can't read more formats i use it and no divx are played. I can't convert thousands and thousands movies :'( I'd prefer to buy a good receiver which can read anything.

There's a sport called motoball. It's when they play football on the motorcycle. Trying to do that you won't have pleasure playing football nor riding the bike, for these are not compatible activities.
The same I can say about dvb/file players.
Either it will be a good DVB player and bad file player, or it will be a good file player and bad dvb player.
So I'd recommend to buy something like DUNE HD and attach to second hdmi of your TV. These players are kind a popular in Russian Federation

Thanks but i can't I only have one cpl plug in the room (to connect the dvb player) and only one hdmi on the tv... So it's also why i want a dvb receiver / file player...

you must have set it up wrong cos i know that dm800 hd can play mkv files
i haven't tested divx but can't see why they shouldn't play on your dm800
have you tried another image and also another media player

Yep my DM800 can read some mkv files (but not with dts sound). But i can say you that it can't read divx 100% sure with any image or plugin.

cant believe a dm900 cant play divx files... need to talk to a friend, he owns one... mkv with dts is little bit difficult, software manufactures need dts license i think

dont know if its the same in your country but in germany the gm990reloaded is sold in amazon, ebay and the most online stores and costs about 120€ (saw on amazon a while ago)....

if you want to buy a twin or a triple tuner there are golden media models with spark system too

if you need to test other file formats maybe i can help you and test it for you so you'll surely not have a bad awakening and youre able to do what you want with your box... avi and mkv (incl dts) running without any problems on goldenmedia990reloaded spark
